A WORD TO MY CATHOLIC FRIENDS |
|
It has been brought to my attention that there have been some people of the Catholic faith logging on to this website, thinking that this is a Catholic website. They have been disappointed to find out that this website does not promote Catholicism, nor any other extra-Biblical beliefs based upon the traditions of men. Some Catholics logged on to this site assuming that this was the Bible Christian Society, a Catholic ministry. We, on the other hand, are Bible Christian Outreach which is based solely upon the Bible itself. I guess you can say we are sola scriptura (scripture alone). As a result of this misunderstanding, I have received some emails from Catholics which were both positive and negative. Any email that I responded to was out of the sincere motive of love for the soul of the individual who sent an email. I do have a personal question to Catholics who have contacted us. Why does the Bible Christian Society call itself that, when they put tradition over truth in God's Word? Please read the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 15:1-9 concerning this matter. The Bible forbids us to add anything to it which is clarified in Proverbs 30:6 and Revelation 22:18-19. We also must consider what Jesus said to a woman in the time of His earthly ministry who seemed to hold to the Catholic belief of exalting Mary over Him. Read here what happens in Luke 11:27-28 which says, "And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." Jesus also forbids us to call someone a "father" in a religious way in Matthew 23:8-10. There is only one Heavenly Father who sits in on the throne and His headquarters are not in Rome or anywhere else on this earth. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only one true mediator between God and men which is found in 1 Timothy 2:5. There is a lot more to be said about this, but it boils down to whether you are in a church or in Christ (Matthew 7:21-23). Let me conclude by saying that this message is not only just for Catholics, but Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Pentecostals, and etc. (Read more in the "Cookie Jar" section of this website. I also personally recommend in the "Highlights" section for you to read "Repentance Is A Doctrine!", "Religious Franchises", and The Catholic Church: Denomination or ABOMINATION?) |
