Does Genesis 1 reveal seven literal days of creation?

The answer is yes. If you look at the end of each day of creation, you will find the words "And the evening and the morning were the first day" as described in verse (5). You will find this again in verses (8, 13, 19, 23, and 31). Genesis chapter 1 deals with the fact of the creation of man and other things, while chapter 2 shows the method of how God created man.

What kind of fruit was on the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

No particular fruit is mentioned. What kind of fruit that was on this tree is of no importance because the fruit was not the root of the problem. It was simply disobedience toward God's command. God had a tree that he chose for man not to eat to test Adam and Eve. They were created innocent but righteousness was determined by how they will obey God's command. They both proved that they were not righteous by disobeying His commandment.
