THE JOSEPH FELLOWSHIP

"But think on me when it shall be well with thee and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house." (Genesis 40:14)

I think about this verse of Scripture and how Joseph may have felt when he said this to a fellow prisoner that was about to be released from the dungeon. Joseph was wrongly accused and should not have been in the situation he was in. He told Pharaoh's butler (the man who was to be released) to make mention of him that he might be set free as well. Joseph wanted to be shown the same compassion that he had shown the butler and needed someone to help him in his time of despair. It is ironic that my son (who is now with Jesus due to a neural tube defect known as anencephaly) is also named Joseph. We named him based on this particular character in the Bible after my wife and I found out that we were having a boy. God has delivered us through a very dark time we have ever faced thus far. He has given us grace and peace that surpasses all understanding while we looked to Him for guidance and comfort.

It has recently been my burden to add a unique addition to the internet ministry of Bible Christian Outreach that is inspired by the verse in Genesis 40:14 that Joseph requested and also the tragedy that my wife and I went through with our son, Joseph Isaac Hodges. I dedicate this page in his memory and most of all the Lord Jesus Christ who now holds him in His arms. This space is designed as a guestbook where you can share what kind of tragedy or tragedies you have been through so that you might be encouraged that there are others like you who are struggling and are not alone. You can remain anonymous and not post your name and email address if you do not wish to do so. The main purpose behind this is to encourage you to keep going strong for the Lord and maybe you just want to get something off of your heart and mind by writing it here. Like Joseph in Genesis 40:14, maybe you want someone to think about you in your time of affliction.
